 LMS Mission, Vision, and Beliefs

The LMS mission is to provide a safe and positive learning environment, appropriate facilities, and a well rounded standards-based curriculum taught by highly qualified staff making education the top priority of the educational institute where all students will reach their full learning potential.

The vision of Lakewood Middle School is to assist our students in reaching and meeting the goals set before them by promoting their academic success, providing opportunities in fine arts, and nurturing in our students a respect for themselves and others.

LMS Beliefs

  •  All students are capable of learning and are challenged to meet high expectations within a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Each student is treated fairly, valued individually, and encouraged to be a life long learner.
  • Continuous improvement is essential to enable students to become confident and self-directed learners so as to perform at or above set state and local standards.
  • Research based assessments and best practices are used as a primary factor in making decision to meet student needs.
  • School policies, procedures, and goals are developed with the primary focus on student learning.
  • Teachers, parents, students, and stakeholders share responsibility for education and will collaborate through ongoing communications.
  • Teachers are responsible for appropriate data driven instruction for all students.
  • Students will be provided opportunities for personal growth in a supportive and challenging learning environment.
